Site Selection & Safety Check
- Choose flat, level ground
- Maintain 5–6 feet clearance on all sides
- Check overhead hazards: power lines, tree limbs, roof overhangs
- Confirm underground utilities if staking
- Verify wind conditions — do not proceed in unsafe wind
Inventory & Layout Verification
Confirm all components: tent top, side poles, center pole, base plates, stakes or ballast, tools and gloves. Lay tent top on tarp to keep clean.
Anchoring / Ballast (MANDATORY)
- Stakes: 30–42 inches, driven at 90°, one per leg plate
- Ballast: 400–500 lbs per leg, securely fastened
- Tent is NOT safe until fully anchored.
