Site Selection & Safety Check

  • Choose flat, level ground
  • Maintain 5–6 feet clearance on all sides
  • Check overhead hazards: power lines, tree limbs, roof overhangs
  • Confirm underground utilities if staking
  • Verify wind conditions — do not proceed in unsafe wind

Inventory & Layout Verification

Confirm all components: tent top, side poles, center pole, base plates, stakes or ballast, tools and gloves. Lay tent top on tarp to keep clean.

Anchoring / Ballast (MANDATORY)

  • Stakes: 30–42 inches, driven at 90°, one per leg plate
  • Ballast: 400–500 lbs per leg, securely fastened
  • Tent is NOT safe until fully anchored.
